Percy Lavon Julian

Julian was a man of hard work. He graduated from high school at the top of his class and earned a scholarship to Harvard University. Julian wanted to start working, but whenever he applied for a job he got rejected because he was black. Being black for Percy Julian along with others gave him problems to move forward on with life. Even though he went though problems he was able to become the first black chemist National Academy of the Sciences he was also was elected to National Inventors Hall of Fame.Julian was most famous for how to extract sterol from soybean oil and synthesize the hormones progesterone and testosterone.
